Initial Ideas

I had researched existing indie magazines and now had in mind what i wanted my design to look like. I didn't want to rush and begin my design straight away using the dreaded photoshop, so, to focus more on what i wanted to include in my magazine and what was going to be on the front i worked on some paper designs.

I decided to call my magazine 'Mus!c'. I wanted this title to stand out from the magazine and dominate the page. From researching other music music magazines, like the school designs each one had an individual house style, for example, fonts, colours etc. I decided to create a house style for my design. I chose to use red, white and black as the three dominant colours as this was the colour portrayed on most indie magazines.

Also, I wanted to have three members in my band, I specifically wanted three so i could enlarge the image and everyone would still be seen. Also i wanted this to be a one off magazine so i used buzzwords such as 'Exclusive'.
